My background in physics, energy and electro-membrane separation guides my research in the field of water treatment, resource recovery and sustainable energy conversion.

My academic journey started with a BSc in Physics in Brazil where I wrote a manuscript on synthesis and characterization of new materials. I progressed into a MSc in Nuclear Technology that focused on use of nuclear techniques for soil science, on top of the typical energy generation. Finally, I moved to the Netherlands to pursue a PhD in Blue Energy at Wageningen University in which salinity gradients from rivers and sea waters are used for electricity production. Upon graduation I worked at VITO in Belgium inside the group of separation technology.
