BioCannDo intends to develop a clear, substantiated message around biobased products, so that it is also easy to understand for the general public. This will increase the support and involvement of the European population. All information is bundled and displayed on the special project website AllThings.Bio.
Why BioCannDo?
The European economy is largely dependent on fossil fuels, which are used, among other things, for chemistry, energy and various everyday applications. But these fuels are becoming scarcer, and their use harms the environment and the climate. Biomass from agriculture, forestry and the sea offers a solution to our dependence on these increasingly scarce and expensive fossil fuels. For example, the transition from a fossil fuel-based economy to a bio economy will hopefully provide a growth boost, more jobs and ultimately a more sustainable Europe. Unfortunately, most people are not yet aware of these opportunities. That is why the BioCannDo project has started.
Creating awareness of biobased products among citizens
The “Bioeconomy Awareness and Discourse” (BioCannDo) project aims to increase awareness of biobased products (both partially and completely made from biomass). The project will develop and disseminate communication and educational materials about the bioeconomy and biobased products, such as articles, videos, fact sheets and other relevant matters, for a more general audience.
In addition, the website www.allthings.bio offers access to reliable information. The intention is to develop a clear and science-based message around biobased products, so that it is also easy to understand for the general public. Partly because of this, the support base for biobased materials and the involvement of the European population in this new bio economy will be increased.
