Every company that innovates needs the same thing: talents, knowledge, money, facilities. Our colleges deliver knowledge and well-trained people. Earlier in the special edition there was zoomed in on a money source for practical research. On this page you are taken along the facilities that the CoE BBE can provide for you. It involves a variety of facilities and applications. Take bioplastics for example: spread across the Biobased Lab and the BAC we have equipment to synthesize and analyze them, to make test pieces and prototypes, to test them and to break them down again. But for the biobased composites bridge we were already happy with a large empty hall, at SPARK. Of course, we don’t have everything in our own house. In our KLAC we test biobased textiles for color fastness, but the University of Maastricht University of Maastricht makes the fibers. In our region we work together with NAC, Rusthoeve, Bioscienz and VARTA. The best thing about our locations is that they are teeming with motivated students from colleges, universities or MBO’s. They gain knowledge and work experience here. The confrontation with real business questions makes us sought-after: per year we house about 80 graduates and interns. We are proud of our facilities. When we show visitors around they are often surprised by the possibilities.
