We help companies with their bio-based ambitions by innovating Higher Professional Education (HBO) and carrying out practice-based research that matters. For example, CoE BBE provides highly educated professionals who can support and shape the transition to a bio-based society.
CoE BBE’s activities are tailored to the needs of the business community. The important thing here is to obtain well-qualified professionals, facilities for prototyping and a central knowledge point for bio-based education, research and facilitation.

Collaborating on the transition to a bio-based economy
The CoE BBE is a partnership between Avans University of Applied Sciences and HZ University of Applied Sciences. Centres of Expertise are established by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) to link higher education with regional economic focal points such as the bio-based economy. These links are action-based partnerships in different areas of expertise in which companies and educational institutions, government agencies and other public organisations jointly innovate, experiment and invest. Together we focus on future-proof professional education and elaborate it for professional practice.
By developing and disseminating knowledge together we can realise the transition to a bio-based economy!
