Accompanied by representatives from Brabant companies, governments and knowledge institutions, Jack Doomernik , professor Smart Energy, gathered in “Our Restaurant” of the Koning Willem College in Den Bosch to join the discussion. Themes addressed were energy poverty, labor shortages, regional energy strategies, grid congestion problems, support for citizen initiatives and opportunities for businesses.

Sustainable business parks

Making business parks more sustainable, stimulated by the province’s “Great Harvest” program and the concrete case around 5 business parks in Veghel are of particular interest to the Smart Energy lectorate. The development of “Energy Hubs” around business parks is gaining momentum. The need for more involvement of the younger generations and well-trained professionals is shared by all. Besides the good company, it was a great evening for informal exchanges and strengthening ties. For a number of participants, the conclusion had a special twist as they got caught up in the farmers’ protest at the county hall where a national debate was taking place at the time.

Students of KW1C, thank you for the delicious dinner!
